MATTHEW CELESTIAL

FOUNDER OF MATTE EQUATION

I’m Matthew Celestial — a corporate communications professional, wellness founder, writer and multi-disciplinary thinker exploring the space where media, wellbeing and neuroscience meet.

By day, I work in communications for organizations with experience across media, health, life sciences, technology and entertainment. No matter the industry, my approach remains the same: to communicate with people for impact, grounding and connection.

Matte Equation began quietly, long before it had a name. During a season of burnout, I found myself returning to simple rituals — a skincare routine that felt like a reset, a slow walk at dusk, a quiet moment before bed. Those small practices became a lifeline, and ultimately the foundation of Matte Equation: a wellbeing brand offering tools for recovery, including skincare, editorial stories, guided meditations and sensory-focused content shaped by neuroscience and the belief that restoration should feel accessible, not aspirational.

I studied Media Studies with a minor in Creative Writing, and I’m now pursuing further studies in Neuroscience — partly for myself, and partly for the Matte Equation community. I’m interested in how stress, touch, ritual and sensory experience shape our internal world, and how we can design moments that help people feel more grounded in the middle of their everyday lives.

Outside of work, I'm naturally curious. I practice (and sometimes teach) yoga and meditation sessions, exploring how breath and movement support nervous system repair. I love long walks, boxing, arranging flowers, learning languages, journaling in cafés, experimenting with food and diving into books about cultures, science and space. I’m drawn to anything that expands my sense of the world — the kind of practices that remind you you’re alive, present and still becoming.

At my core, I care about one thing: creating spaces — through communication, story, or ritual — that help people feel a little more grounded.

This fun love project all started with this mud mask. I hope you try (and like) it.
